Top Six Most Brutal Serial Killers Ever

Not for the Faint of Heart

This article is not for the faint of heart. Just to throw this out there… I don’t have a morbid fascination for serial killers. But I do have to study them for my psychology classes because of the field of work that I would like to enter into. Anyways; let’s get started!

1. Gilles De Rais—This is a man whom may be called the father of serial killing. Born 1404, Gilles De Rais raped, tortured, and killed hundreds of small children, mostly boys. He had a thing for blond hair and blue eyed boys. Promising them treats to lure them into his castle, where he would torture as well as mutilate them in the most inhumane way possible; ejaculating over the dead children as a way to assert his manhood. His greatest pleasure though was derived from laying in and bathing in their blood. He would stab them in the jugular to enjoy the squirting blood. Often times, after the deed was done his servants would burn his victims as he would whip himself.

2. Ted Bundy—He slides in at number two as being one of the most notorious serial killers in U.S history. Born in 1946, he raped and murdered an unidentified number of young women from 1974 to 1978. Bundy did confess to at least thirty murders, but the police believe that number was much higher than he said. Bundy had a thing with dead bodies as well as live ones. Having sex with his victims even after they were dead and decaying. He used his charm to lure his victims which is a tactic known to be effective by most serial killers. He was killed by electric chair in 1989 and his last words were "I'd like to give my love to my family and friends."

3. Andrei Chikatilo—Truly one of the most menacing men you will ever come across. Nicknames include the “butcher” and the “red ripper.” He butchered 53 women and children between 1978 to 1990 when he was finally caught. He liked prostitutes as well as little girls. During his trial, they kept him in a cage in the middle of the courtroom, ironically for his own protection. Afterwards, he was executed via firing squad with a bullet to the back of the head.

4. Jeffery Dahmer—It wouldn’t be a list without this serial killer who killed more than 17 men after luring them into his apartment. He dismembered their bodies brutally and kept their skulls as souvenirs, which is very common among serial killers as well as serial rapists. They enjoy having something they can look at to relive their crimes. He even admitted to eating parts of his victims. Dahmer was sentenced to 900 years in jail only to be found dead in his cell in 1994.

5. Joachim Kroll was a Germany serial killer and cannibal who killed as well eaten thirteen people. He included little children during his reign of terror. He was caught in 1979 when desperate policemen were going from home to home and one exasperated neighbor complained about strange noises. Kroll would slice flesh from his victims and cook them to save money on his grocery bills. When arrested he was ordered to serve nine life sentences, but died of a heart attack in 1991.

6. Self professed loner Denis Nilsen had driven at least fifteen young men and boys, probably more, to their deaths. He would lure them into his house under some other pretext and then kill them. After preserving their corpses he would often sleep with them in his bed for several days until the rotting stench became too much to deal with. Apparently he really was lonely! Nilsen would cut up and burn the corpses once he was done with them and then flush them down the drain. That is how he was caught… by a plumber. In 1983 he was sentenced to life in prison.

There are some really sick people out there and it is important that we stay vigilante in our everyday lives. If something doesn't feel right than it probably isn't. Trust your gut feelings, even in today's society.
