The Jodi Arias Case

The Real Life Fatal Attraction

Now the only person that calls this case the real life "fatal attraction" is me, but after you read this post you may see why I call it that. There had been Dateline episodes and Lifetime movies done on this case because it was that crazy and brutal. I honestly think that Jodi is a crazy person who needs some mental health help. She honestly thought she was innocent which amazes me.

Jodi seemed to be this beautiful, normal put together girl and then she met this guy named Travis Alexander. Travis was a motivational speaker and salesman who lived Arizona and Jodi lived in California, and I think she worked for the same company as Travis. Jodi and Travis met at a conference in Nevada in September 2006. From everything that I saw on TV, she seemed to become obsessed with him. She even converted to Travis' Mormon faith and, on November 2006, she was baptized into the LDS Church. They began dating in February 2007 but they had a physical relationship before then. Some of what I saw suggested that it was more of a friends with benefits thing with elements of a long distance relationship mixed in. When they were in their relationship, his friends noticed her actions were sometimes troubling. They also noticed that their relationship was unusually tumultuous. They even noticed she was a little crazy before she was baptized. She would get jealous if he was talking to other girls. In one reenactment of their relationship, she was almost home and she called when she heard girls in the background she turned around to see what was going on. In June 2007 they ended their relationship but maintained a physical relationship.

Travis started dating someone else in December 2007. Jodi started harassing Travis and his girlfriend. Jodi moved closer to Travis after their break up. It seemed that Jodi and Travis may have had a relationship in the beginning of 2008. In early June of 2008, Jodi stayed at Travis' place and they took erotic pictures together. It was suspected that in the morning Travis got a text from the girl he had dated in December of 2007 and Jodi saw. Then Jodi went psycho and went into the bathroom to kill Travis. He was stabbed 27 times, his throat was cut and shot in the face. She actually tired to destroy the camera in the wash machine! She even took pictures of her killing him. She called Travis after she had drove out of state. She had gas can so she wouldn't have to stop. When she shot him she used the gun she took from her grandparents. After the murders, Jodi met up with a co worker and the co worker said that she had died her hair and had cut on her hands. Five days after the murder, having been unable to reach Travis, a concerned group of friends went to his home. His roommates didn't see him for a few days but thought he was out of town so they didn't think anything was wrong. When the police originally questioned her she said that two people broke into the house and killed him, they were going to possibly kill her too according to her statement. She also gave an interview where she changed a few parts of her story. Then when she was on the stand during the trial she said that she killed him because he was an abusive crazy person and she was trying to defend herself. She also accused Travis of being a pedophile.

Jodi's case was originally a mistrial because of a hung jury. Then there was appeals and retrials and she was sentenced. At the end of the movie, she was shown in her jail cell apologizing to Travis like he was right there but he wasn't. I don't know why but I actually laughed and thought that if that was true to life then she really was crazy. She is serving a life sentence currently.
