'The Da Vinci Code' Trilogy

Underrated Movie Series

This trilogy may be one of the most underrated series there is. Not only are these books amazing, and there are more books than movies right now. The books themselves are underrated because for when they are made, and even now, they have such an interesting topic that is still very prevalent to things going on today. I love how all the books relate to issues very current to the times.

On to the movies.

These movies were so good and spot on regarding issues going on in the world. I mean the Da Vinci Code came out around times where the church was being questioned in regard to its secrets. Angels and Demons was ironically after the death of the pope, which happened in the movie as well. And then Inferno played in with a killer virus that, if released, could kill half the population. This movie was released in 2013, which for those who may of forgotten is the same year of the Ebola scare. So all these movies were almost strategically released when something similar was going on in the world. And they are something that very much could be real.

In explaining the movies very quickly, each movie was action packed, and informative on some very big religious based topics. To start the Da Vinci Code is the hunt for the Holy Grail, where the truth or a very interesting, controversial topic is that the Grail is not a chalice, but instead it is Mary Magdalene. Next bit of controversy is that the movie says how Mary was Jesus' wife and was pregnant. So right there it is a huge story, because there have been so many controversy in the church and around the church about this.

Angels and Demons, was a great follow up as well. Not only did it bring science into it in the creation of anti-matter (the God Particle) and having it be used as a villain against the church. Also, bringing in the Illuminati, which became a huge topic around the same time this movie was released. Though the movie went back to the origins of the Illuminati when they were at their peak of infiltration in the church. Crazy to think that this was such a craze. Also, not only that, but they put the film around the election of a new pope, which did not fall to far after the death of Pope John Paul II in real life. It showed the process that the cardinals and church go through during this time.

Inferno was probably the best timed movie of all. It dealt with this man being obsessed with Dante as well as the world's over population. This one was the one that covered the more realistic topics as over population is becoming a bigger risk. However, when this film was out the Ebola scare just finished. Which is crazy some would say, as this film is based on Robert Langdon, the main character, finding a bio chemical virus that would destroy half the worlds population. Now in the movie, the trail leading them to this virus was set by a series of clues all relating to Dante's circles of hell. For those unaware, Dante wrote that hell was actually nine circles/layers deep. All of which pertained to a different sin, one of which was that the sinners would be punished by the plague.

Now these are very brief descriptions of the movies so that you get a taste of what they are about. Pretty much if you are anyone interested in symbols or history in any form then these will interest you. Also, there have been two more books written since Inferno so the prospect of new movies is out there as well.

But seriously the fact that no one really knows about this trilogy is quite sad. The story behind all the movies are really well done, and quite believable as well, which makes for a great movie. And to get even more from the series you can always read the books which are by Dan Brown so they are obviously great.
