Many people were unable to keep their jobs or go into work for fear of getting sick or having no one to watch the kids. Schools have chosen to teach remotely and colleges sent their students home. The people who were lucky enough to keep their jobs were mostly stuck working with the public and putting their own safety at risk or told to work from home.

How to get over the fear of solo travelTop Story - January 2020
Everyone should travel solo at least once in their life. It is a very rewarding experience that will leave the traveler feeling more confident and capable. Recently, I went on my very first solo travel trip but it took me a few months to feel comfortable enough to travel on my own. I get it, traveling alone can be scary especially if you are a woman. In fact, if someone had asked me two years ago if I would ever travel alone my answer would have been a definite "no". But oh how the times have changed. I have compiled a list of the top five biggest reasons people (and my past self) are afraid to travel alone and how to get over that fear. Let me start by saying that there are so many reasons to travel solo and only a few keeping people from the world. People travel solo not because they can't find someone to go with them, but they make the conscious choice to do so. Even if you prefer to travel with someone else, life is too short to wait around for others.

At the end of the night, the parents left their three children in the room while they went bar with friends. This was something that the adults did every night, and they would check in with their kids at least once an hour.

What It's Like Owning a Pet Snake
"You have a snake?" my friend asked as she gasped and gave me a look of pure horror. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I had gotten this reaction from someone when they find out what I keep in my room as a pet. In fact, before I get my snake my dad told me that I shouldn't post anything about my snake on social media because "people wouldn't understand and they would think I'm weird." Harsh, right? I certainly thought so.

5 Ride-Share Horror Stories
Ride-share services have become quite the norm. People would much rather call an Uber or Lyft driver than an old fashioned taxi. However, Uber specifically does not do a background check on their employees or meet them for an interview prior to hiring them (currently). The requirements Uber drivers need to meet are not steep, and most people with a car that was made in the last decade can apply and expect to be hired. But how safe really are these ride-share services? You decide.

Leonarda Cianciulli: The Serial Killer Who Turned Her Victims into Soap
In 1894, an Italian serial killer was born. Leonarda Cianciulli never had a perfect life, and little is known about her childhood, but it is documented that she attempted suicide twice in her adolescence and then married a man her parents strongly disapproved of. In fact, Leonarda believed that her marriage to an office cleric was cursed because of her parent's strong content for their union. Leonarda was married in the 1930s and ran a small shop out of Corregio, Italy. What did the shop sell you might ask? The answer is soap.

The Papin Sisters: The Horrible Truth Behind the Murders They Committed
WARNING: This blog post contains content that may be troubling or may trigger some views. Proceed with caution. There are a total of three Papin sisters, and all of them had awful lives. The oldest sister was named Emilia, followed by Christine, and then the youngest was Lea. The three sisters were subjected to awful abuse throughout their entire childhoods, and despite the girls having quite the age differences, Christine and Lea were very close. The parents of the Papin sisters were as evil as they come. The mom reportedly cared very little for her children, and the dad was abusive in every way imaginable. Emilia was sexually assaulted by her father, and left the family soon after to become a nun at a monastery.
