My Road So Far
I cried in a tattoo shop. Not from pain. This baby didn't hurt. I wasn't necessarily sad, but I was emotional and it was bittersweet. I got a tattoo last November because that March, it was announced that Supernatural ( the tv show ) was going to air it's finale season. There are those that make fun or call it silly to cry over a tv show but Supernatural isn't any old show. Supernatural goes beyond that, way way beyond that, its like the Falcon and its going at warp speed. Just like Han Solo, it has defeated the odds. Almost got cancled twice and a company executive that did her best to kill the show by outting it on friday where shows go to die; but just like its characters it never could die. It coundn't die till the boys said. And evem now with the show nearing its last 7 episodes, it won't die. It can't die. The Supernatural Family is too big, the cast and crew too in love with the characters and fans and its influence too big. Supernatural was a show that never got those big awards or the true recognition it deserved but I believe what was created outside of the show is an award no show will ever know. I was 12 when the show aired. I saw it in my tv guide and thought the boys were cute. So I sat down on its air date, in the dark and with a pizza. That day I realized this show was much more than some pretty boys fighting monsters. I always say, I came for the pretty boys and stayed for the story.

Three Kingdoms, Three Husbands and One Head.
Mary Queen of Scots, or one could also call her Mary Queen of Tragedy. No tragic Shakespeare play could ever capture nor come close to the horrible events that befell this woman. Made queen at only six days old and then to be swept away from her home at five, off to France never retuning to Scotland till she was eighteen which did not help her establish a true home. Family was ether died, astringed, or thought she was trying to kill them. Religious uproar from nobles rioting and murder plots had her in fear for her life. Life never seemed easy for the young queen. She had three husbands, one made her Queen of France, another joined her at the throne in Scotland and the last would have liked to have seen her take the English throne. Pulled in so many different directions her whole life it is amazing the naive, yet strong Mary didn’t lose her head before someone took it against her will.

Let’s Just Talk About the Craft
Alia showed up on my discovery Instagram page about a month ago. Alia is a very fashionable human, and being a fashion enthusiast myself, I wanted to follow her. It was a pleasant surprise to find that she was also someone involved in the film industry.

To Catch a Predator: Priest Edition
Opening with a scene set on a snowy Boston night 1976, in a police station, the audience listens to a conversation between a lawyer and a cop about the molestation charges toward a priest, him and his victim are somewhere in the station. Not much later we see the priest walking out of the station, he is free and the victim is most likely feeling imprisoned in his own mind not to feel heard for many years.

Before Queen Elizabeth, There Was Princess Elizabeth
She was stern, she was smart and cunning, she cared for her people among all else, she refused to be tricked or used, and she was The Virgin Queen. Queen Elizabeth 1 did not pop out of the ground one day with all of her knowledge, characteristics, and political savvy that made her great, she was born and through her childhood and young adult life she learned these things and her character was molded, helping her in her reign. Not much is said on Elizabeth’s childhood and young adult life before she took the throne, so maybe a deeper look at Elizabeth’s younger years will help explain her older ones just a bit more.

Cleopatra the Great: Why Cleopatra Was the Smartest and Most Intelligent Ruler of Egypt
Cleopatra. Name brings up many words: seductress, selfish, mistress, harlot, and many other negative words. What about smart or great ruler? Yes, she might have died without insuring her country's independence, but she did all she could to try to accomplish it. She was wickedly intelligent and knew how to use her feminine ways to get what she wanted. If Caesar had not died she could have accomplished all she wanted for herself and for her people. Cleopatra was truly one of the greatest pharaohs of Egypt. She had the makings of a great world conqueror and general, always thinking ahead, knowing her opponent, and being intelligible. And as said in The 100 Most Influential Women of All Time “it was both her desire and ambition that made her the Queen of Kings.”

A Song Turned to Protest
“Music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life,” words written by the romantic writer Jean Paul Richter, and they are ever so true. There have been numerous gloomy historical events within America’s 242 years since its establishment. One gloomy event in particular was the Vietnam War, and this war also became known as "America’s First Rock n Roll War." Anti-war songs were almost on every musician’s album, played on every radio, and added fuel to fiery protests against the war all over the nation. There was a musical being preformed on Broadway promoting these ideas against war. Protesters plastered lyrics from anti-war songs on signs as their rally cry. War, any war, can shape and change many things for the people being effected by it, but the Vietnam War, while changing and shaping different things, did something very important: It changed music in the late 60s and early 70s that showed just how powerful music really was and is. This war helped define the rebellious way that is Rock n Roll.

That's Racist
Recently the actor Orlando Jones, who plays Mr. Nancy on American Gods, posted a video on his Instagram. The video shows a white woman, Corinne Terrone, screaming racial slurs at a black man, named Eric. There was something he said in his caption that stuck out to me. "The issue is my white friends think they know more about racism than me... they know more about something they've never experienced than I do and we can't discuss how that's racist without them losing their minds."

Something for the Pro-Lifers to Think About
Abortion has been gracing the headlines and news outlets a lot lately. Not for its decline or anything along those lines, but for people marching in the streets. Many on the hating-it side are yelling at women that they are murderers. Then there are certain bills that are up for rejection or approval that could yet again hurt women.

How Do We Measure Up?
Hakas are being performed multiple times a day in New Zealand at the moment and sadly it is not for a rugby game or wedding. The Hakas are being performed to honor the 50 people that recently lost their lives due to a white supremacist with a firearm at the Al Noor Mosque.
